Meal:- Dinner only On your arrival at Chandigarh railway station / airport you will be met by our driver and he will drive you to Shimla (4hrs) via Barog, Solan. Enroute you will stop for lunch break at Barog( 2hrs from Chandigarh)and comfort breaks and would have enough time to stop for photo breaks. You will reach Shimla in the evening and will transfer to your hotel in Shimla. Overnight stay in Hotel in Shimla. Evening is free to explore the mall road of Shimla.
Day 2: Shimla – Sarahan 2,150 metres / 7,055 feet, (170 kms / 9 hrs)Meal:- Dinner & Breakfast After breakfast at hotel we will set off at around 9:00A.M. Today it is a drive of 8-9 hrs, driving through the beautiful villages of Fagu, Theog, Matiana, Narkanda and Rampur. En route we will have many comfort breaks and will visit the Apple orchards and Hattu peak (3,400 metres/ 11,154 feet) at Narkanda, from where you can have a spectacular view of the mighty Central Himalayas and will also visit the traditional wooden carved temple of Godess Kali on the top. We will also stop by a small lake on the way to Hattu Peak. Later on we continue our drive to Sarahan via Rampur and enroute we will stop for lunch break and various picture breaks and comfort breaks.Sarahan – the tiny village offers the splendid views of ShrikhandaMahadev Peak (5,155 meters). The major attraction in Sarahan is centuries-old Hindu temple of GodessBhimakali. Steeped in legend, the temple complex is a resplendent example of hill architecture. Sarahan is also the gateway to Kinnaurvalley. Overnight stay in Hotel in Sarahan.
Day 3: Sarahan – Sangla 2,680 metres / 8,792 feet, (90 kms / 5 hrs)Meal:- Dinner & Breakfast After breakfast at your hotel, we will visit the famous temple of Bhimakali at Sarahan. This is the same temple in which human sacrifices were made about two centuries ago. After visiting the temple we will continue driving to Sangla (4-5 hrs) where you will check in at your hotel or could also choose to stay in fixed luxury tented accommodation. After lunch you will be taken on a walk through Kamru andSangla villages ( 1-2 hrs) and we will visit the beautifully carved old temples and Buddhist monasteries. You will have plenty of opportunity to speak to the local people in these valleys. The Sangla valley is also known as the BaspaSangla valley, after river Baspa which flows through the valley and it is the part of Kinnaur valley. Overnight in luxury tented accommodation / hotel in Kinner in Sangla.
Day 4: Sangla to Chitkul 3,450 metres / 11,318 feet and back to Sangla.Meal:- Dinner & Breakfast A day to have short comfortable walks around the area. This morning after breakfast we will be driving you to Chitkul( 20 kms, total 1 hrs, each side – 3,450 metres / 11,318 feet.) which is the last village on Indian side on the Indo–Tibetan border. The village of Chitkul is like something from a fairy tale, and you will have a chance to walk slowly around it. The landscapes are stunning, and you will have plenty of time to enjoy them and talk to the local people. We will return to Sangla for lunch in the local restaurants and later the rest of the day is free to relax in the mountain landscape or if you like you can walk to another nearby villages or nature walk. We will have this second night at the same hotel / luxury tented accommodation at Sangla
Day 5: Sangla to Kalpa 2,758 metres / 9,048 feet, (40 kms).Meal:- Dinner & Breakfast After breakfast at the hotel you will be driven to Kalpa village (2-3 hrs.) Enroot we will stop at Recongpeo and will have a walk around the local market. Recongpeo is the district headquarters of Kinnaur district. We will have lunch in a local restaurant where you have a choice to enjoy Indian or Tibetian food. After lunch we will drive to kalpa( 7 kms), you will check in to your hotel. Evening would be free to relax and explore the Kalpa village and to enjoy the finest views of the Mt. Kinner Kailash Mountain (6,000 metres). This is a spectacular sight early in the morning as the rising sun touches the snowy peaks with crimson and gold light.
Day 6: Kalpa to Nako 2,250 / 7385 feet, (75 kms- 10 hrs).Meal:- Dinner & Breakfast After breakfast we will drive you to Nako (5-6 hrs.). Here you will check in to the hotel or in the luxury tented accommodation. Later on after lunch we will take you for a walk in the village with your guide and visit the buddhist monastery related to guru Padmasambhava (a great buddhist scholar, whose teachings spread to Tibet from India), we will also visit Nako Lake, the residence of His Holiness The Dalai Lama ji. Later on next morning you may wish to walk to the nearby peaks with your guide and enjoy a wonderful view of the whole Nako village with the Himalayas as the backdrop of the village.
Day 7: Nako to Kaza 2,250 / 7385 feet, (75 kms- 10 hrs).Meal:- Dinner & Breakfast After breakfast we will drive you to Tabo (4hrs.) and en route visit the Gue village which is also the last Indian village on Indo-Tibetan boarder. Here we will be visiting the naturally preserved mummy of a Buddhist monk which is about 600 years old, which was discovered here while building the road. Later on reach Tabo and check in to your hotel. In the evening visit the Tabo monastery which is the oldest monastery in the Himalayas. Today we will be entering the beautiful Spiti valley which is also known as the cold desert of the Himalayas (this area is cut from rest of the world due to heavy snow in the winters). Visit Tabo monastery, which is oldest monastery in the whole Himalayas. Later travel to Kaza en route visiting Dhankar village, monastery and fort. If interested you can even walk uphill to theDhankar Lake ( 1 hrs each side). Later on we continue our drive to Kaza where you will check in at your hotel .The evening is free to explore in the Kaza market.
Day 8: KazaSightseingMeal:- Dinner & Breakfast Today after breakfast we will be driven to the village of Lagnza. Here there is an opportunity to walk around the village with your guide. You may wish to visit the monastery at the top of the village and on the way look out for fossils. Here you can also see the yak working in the fields or yak grazing in the pastures. If weather permits there is an option drive on to Hikkim, and the Comic village, which is now the world’s highest village (4,450 metres) joined to a motorable road. Later we will continue our drive to Kee Monastery and the village of Kibber. Once Kibber (at 4,200 metres) was considered the world’s highest village. There is also the option to walk to the nearby mountains where there are big herds of Himalayan blue sheep and snow ibex gather in the evening. Lunch will be at Kibber village, in a local restaurant, where you will be offered a choice of delicious Tibetan dishes. In the evening we will return to Kaza for a second night at the same hotel.
Day 9: Kaza to jispaMeal:- Dinner & Breakfast Today we will make an early start ( 06;00 A.M) as today it is a drive of 8-9 hrs. In the morning we will be driving you to Keylong via Kunzum Pass (4558 m/14,950ft) which provides beautiful views of CB ranges and Glaciers. We will visit the temple on the pass where travellers say prayers before heading down the pass. We will visit ChandarTaal Lake if the road is open and see the lake, also known as the lake of the moon. Enroute visit several villages of Spiti and Lahaul valley. Lunch on the way at Batal. We will reach Keylong by evening. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10: jispa to sarchuMeal:- Dinner & Breakfast Today again we will start around 07:30 A.M , after the breakfast and we drive you through some of the most beautiful roads in The Himalayas to Leh.The day includes many hairpins, especially in the scaling of a sinuous ribbon of tarmac up to our second ountain pass, Baralacha La (4,830 metres/ 15, 847 feet). Today we enter from the brown mountains to golden sandy mountains On the other side of Baralacha descend onto a huge, open plain with an azure river frothing at its centre, surrounded by huge mountains. Sarchu is situated on the border of Jammu-and-Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh states and is where we stop for tea / lunch break and your passports will be checked at the police check post. Further we drive through 21 hair pin bends to Lachlung La Pass (5,019 metres/ 16, 467 feet) and enroute we enjoy magnificent views of the Mountains and the valleys. We will also cross Naki La Pass (4,740 metres/ 15,551 feet) before we ride down into the valley to Pang . Today there are chances to see the Snow ibex and the herds of wild Himalayan blue sheep in between Sarchu to Pang. Lunch will be taken at the small eating places with fresh food at village of Pang, before we ride through the vast More Plains The highest of the Tibetan Plateau at 4200 metres– to Tsokor lake. This region also has rare wild life like the Tibetan wild Ass, wolf, and the elusive Snow Leopard, the blacknecked Crane and Tibetan Snow Cock After around an hour’s riding we will leave the Manali Leh road at the end of more plains and will take right turn into another valley After around an hour’s riding in this bleak yet spectacular setting, and head for Tso-Kar, a deep blue salt lake up at 13,780feet, set against the spectacular Himalayan setting , reached via remote roads. Herewe will stay overnight in a fixed tented accommodation in a seasonal tented camp. Overnight in Tsokor.
Day 11: sarchu to lehMeal:- Dinner & Breakfast After breakfast we will visit the Tsokor lake and later we will head North- East to meet the Manali Leh road Again where we leave it yesterday. We continue our drive to Leh over the Tanglang La pass (5280 Metres.) the second highest motorable pass in the world that commands breath taking views of the Zanskar range and the upper Indus valley. We stop on the way in the local eating places to sip a cup of tea and while following the Indus river and the spectular mountains views with green fields and purple mountains, sandy landscape we arrive inleh – the capital of Ladakh valley, by late afternoon. Overnight stay in Hotel in Leh.
Day 12: leh local sightseeingMeal:- Dinner & Breakfast After breakfast 08:30 A.M we will be driving you for a full day sightseeing tour around Leh to Hemis monastery, Thikshe monastery, Shey Palace. These monasteries are a research and culturalcentre for Buddhism. We will be back to Leh by late afternoon and in the evening we will visit the Leh Palace and the local market of Leh. Second night in the same hotel in leh. Unspecified meals etc.
Day 13: Leh – Sangam – Hall of Fame – LehMeal:- Dinner & Breakfast Today after breakfast leave for half day excursion to Hall of Fame, GurudwaraPathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill &Sangam View where Indus &Zanskarriver meet and River Rafting point. Afternoon you would be driven back to hotel. In the evening enjoy a sunset at Shanti Stupa. Night stay at hotel in Leh.
Day 14: Leh – Pangong LakeMeal:- Dinner & Breakfast Today after breakfast, check out from the Hotel & drive to Pangong Lake, east to the Leh after crossing Chang-la (Pass) (17500ft) and driving via Durbuk and Tangtse villages in the Changthang region of Ladakh and perhaps one of the most amazing lakes in Asia which changes its color 4 – 5 times a day. At evening enjoy the breathtaking view of Pangong Lake. Overnight at the Camp at Pangong Lake.
Day 15: Pangong Lake – LehMeal:- Dinner & Breakfast Today after breakfast, check out from the Camp & drive to Leh. While returning back to Leh visit Thiksay, Shey, Stok, Hemis monasteries. Evening free for leisure & own activities. Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 16: Leh - Khandrungla Top - Nubra ValleyMeal:- Dinner & Breakfast Today after an early breakfast you would be driven to Nubra Valley. Enroute visit Khardung-la-pass, the highest motorable road in the world at 18,380ft. Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldorma or the valley of flowers. It is situated to the north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. Arrive at Hunder& check in at Hotel/Camps. Later visit Diskit Village & enjoy the Camel ride on sand dunes. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel/Camp.
Day 17: Nubra Valley – LehMeal:- Dinner & Breakfast Today after breakfast, drive to Leh after following the same route via Khardung-la. Check in at Hotel upon arrival. At evening explore Leh market for Shopping. Overnight at hotel.
Day 18: Depart LehMeal:- Dinner & Breakfast After Breakfast, check out from the Hotel & you would be transferred to Leh Airport. Your memorable tour to land of dragon concludes here.
